Thousands of flautists gather in one of the most beautiful squares in Italy overlooking the sea to create a one of a kind and first of its kind show, conceived and created by the Trieste Flute Association with the musical collaboration of Maestro Valter Sivilotti.
This is our dream for Trieste Flute Day 2018.
A Guiness World Record dream.
The biggest flute concert in the world cannot be imagined, it must be seen.
It will take place in Trieste on the 7th October 2018 in the splendid Piazza dell’Unità d’Italia during the 50th edition of Barcolana.
If you also love the flute, and love music, come to Trieste on Sunday 7th October to play with us: we will be the largest flute orchestra in the world, for the biggest flute concert of all time!
Let’s make this dream come true, let’s play together; it will be an unforgettable show!
We are looking for flautists to participate in the debut performance of a piece for two thousand flutes composed for us by the great musician Maestro Valter Sivilotti.
The event is open to flautists of all ages, from small 6-year-old musicians to graduates of national and foreign Academies and Conservatories of Music; from students enrolled in middle school music classes, and musical high schools, to professional flautists.
Become part of the biggest flute orchestra in the world!
We will be the biggest flute orchestra in the world, united for the biggest flute concert of all time!
Together, we will perform a piece composed for the occasion, hosted by the Trieste Flute Association, with the musical collaboration of
Maestro Valter Sivilotti.
Il Trieste Flute Festival
In the days leading up to the concert, we are organising a series of activities dedicated to musicians and enthusiasts:
- a musical show on the history of the flute;
- guided tours at the Schmidl Civic Theatre Museum;
- conferences about the flute, delivered by Italian and foreign experts.
A detailed programme will be available soon.
It will be an opportunity to visit Trieste, an unusual seaside town in the middle of Central Europe that connects Italy to Austria and Slovenia.
You will be in Trieste during the occasion of the 50th edition of Barcolana, the most crowded regatta in the world, full of events and demonstrations on land and at sea.
