The Trieste Flute Association is delighted to announce the launch of the first edition of the “Leonardo De Lorenzo” International Music Composition Competition for Flute Ensembles.
The competition has been established with the aim of showcasing the talent of contemporary composers, offering a platform of excellence for the dissemination of musical languages and the promotion of emerging creativity.
The competition is open to composers of all nationalities and with no age restrictions.
Entries will be judged by an internationally renowned jury, comprising distinguished figures from the contemporary music scene:
- Valter Sivilotti (Italy, Chair)
- Doina Rotaru (Romania, Vice-Chair)
- David Mastikosa (Bosnia and Herzegovina, jury member).
Prizes and Awards
The total prize fund includes cash prizes for the top three winners.
In any case, the Trieste Flute Association reserves the right to consider non-winning pieces for performance on other occasions by the Trieste Flute Ensemble.
The overall winning work will also receive its world premiere at Trieste Flute Day on 7 December 2026.
