Since 2009, we have shared our passion for the flute through concerts, masterclasses, and events, building an international community of musicians and music lovers. To celebrate this milestone, we have designed a series of special events: opportunities to reconnect, perform together, and look to the future with enthusiasm.

Announcing the launch of the “Leonardo De Lorenzo” International Composition Competition for Flute Ensemble, dedicated entirely to repertoire for flute ensembles.

Special event on the occasion of the 4th World March for Peace and Nonviolence.
4–7 December 2026 | the heart of the Festival
In December, Trieste will become the vibrant center of the Festival, hosting four days dedicated to the flute, music education, and networking between artists, students, and enthusiasts.
A rich program of events featuring:
- Masterclasses and workshops
- Concerts and live performances
- Opportunities for musical connection and collaboration

The Festival will welcome some of the most prominent performers on the international flute scene:
- Walter Auer (Austria)
- Silvia Careddu (Italy)
- Oscar de Manuel (Spain)
- Matej Zupan (Slovenia)
- Australian Flute Ensemble (Australia)
Education and workshops
Our educational offerings will be enriched by:
- Alexander Technique Workshop led by Antonella Benatti
- Workshop for Youth Flute Ensembles
A dedicated training path for young musicians, culminating in a final showcase concert featuring all participants.

The Grand Finale of the Festival
The closing day will feature:
- The award ceremony for the first edition of the “Leonardo De Lorenzo” International Composition Competition for Flute Ensemble.
- The absolute world premiere of the winning composition
World premieres and special projects
During the evening, a new composition by Australian flutist and composer Monash Lal will be presented in its absolute world premiere, performed by Maestra Silvia Careddu.
The program will continue with:
- Performance by the Youth Ensemble
- Flute Flamenco
A brand-new performance blending the language of the flute with the sounds and rhythms of the flamenco tradition.
International Tour
Following the Festival, the Australian Flute Ensemble, in collaboration with the Trieste Flute Association, will continue its international tour with two appearances:
- Tuesday, 8 December 2026: Academy of Music, University of Ljubljana (Slovenia)
- Wednesday, 9 December 2026: “Benedetto Marcello” Conservatory of Music, Venice
Closing Events | January 2027
The Festival will draw to a close in January 2027 with a series of special events:
- Sofia, New Bulgarian University
- Trieste
